Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Is there more meters of this fabric?
We only have the quantity shown on our website. Our fabrics come from leftover or surplus stock of high-quality textiles and are available in limited quantities only.
As these are leftover fabrics, a piece cannot be restocked once it is sold out. We therefore recommend ordering the amount you need right away.
Every fabric we bring back into circulation ensures that valuable materials are reused instead of disappearing unused, giving them a second life.
2. Are all fabrics available right away?
Most of the fabrics you see in our shop are available immediately — while supplies last! Because we work with limited leftover stocks, many fabrics are only available in certain quantities and often cannot be reordered. Once a fabric is sold out, it’s usually gone for good.
We update our selection regularly — so it’s worth checking back often or acting quickly when you find something you love. Sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know when new fabrics go online: Signup!
3. Is there a minimum order quantity for fabrics?
There’s no fixed minimum order quantity, as it can vary depending on the type of product or fabric. You’ll find the specific information for each item on its individual product page.
In general, our fabrics can be ordered in 10 cm increments for example, 2.2 m or 3.7 m so you can get exactly the amount you need without unnecessary waste.
By the way: if a fabric piece happens to be just a few centimeters longer than what you ordered, we won’t trim it down, we’re happy to leave the extra on. That way, there’s less waste, and you might even have a little spare material.
4. Is this fabric available in other colours?
We only offer the colours that are currently available in our online shop. Other colour options are unfortunately not available.
As our fabrics come from surplus stock of renowned brands, we cannot control what colours were originally produced.
What we can influence is bringing these fabrics back into use, instead of letting them go to waste, giving high-quality materials a second life.
5. Do you have more pictures of this fabric?
At the moment, we provide up to six product images per item. These images show the fabric from different angles and aim to represent it as accurately as possible.
As our fabrics are exclusive and limited deadstock, we cannot offer additional photos. In many cases, only a small quantity of the material is available and no further samples exist.
All images are created to display texture, colour, and surface in detail. Please note that slight colour variations may occur due to screen settings and lighting conditions.
6. Do you offer fabric samples?
No, we currently don’t offer fabric samples. As a small, independent project, we simply don’t have the capacity to cut, pack, and ship hundreds of samples — even though we completely understand the wish for them. Hopefully, we’ll be able to offer fabric samples in the near future!
In the meantime, we do our best to provide honest, detailed photos and all the important information in our shop to help you make an informed choice.
7. Is there a special offer or discount if I order more?
No, we currently do not offer bulk discounts or special pricing.
As our fabrics come from surplus stock of renowned brands, quantities are limited, so discounts for larger orders are not planned at the moment.
We recommend ordering the required amount right away to ensure your project can be completed and that valuable fabrics are not wasted.
8. Do you offer discounts or promotions?
Occasionally — but only out of necessity and principle. Some fabrics simply have to go because they’re on the verge of being sorted out for good — that’s when they go on sale and need to find a new home quickly.
In general, our prices are calculated to be fair for you and sustainable for us. Since we work with rescued materials, our products are already significantly more affordable than many fabrics of comparable quality from regular retail sources.
Instead of relying on short-term deals, we focus on long-term appreciation and honest pricing — from the very beginning.
9. I found a similar fabric at another retailer for a higher price. Is it the same fabric?
This cannot always be determined with absolute certainty. Many of our fabrics come from surplus or leftover stock of high-quality productions and may also be offered by other retailers or distribution channels.
Price differences often result from different purchasing conditions, storage and operating costs, or brand and retail markups. A higher price does not automatically indicate different origin or higher quality.
If the composition, weight, weave, and appearance match, it is very likely the same fabric or from the same production run. However, an exact match cannot be guaranteed.
10. Can I send my order as a gift?
At the moment, we don’t offer a dedicated gift service — meaning no gift wrapping or greeting cards. However, you can of course enter a different delivery address if you’d like to surprise someone. The invoice will only be sent to you by email — no pricing information is included in the package.
And who knows — maybe our gift service will come in the future.
11. Why did I receive more fabric than I ordered?
To avoid fabric waste and make cutting more efficient, we sometimes include the entire remaining piece of a roll if it’s close to the length you ordered.
Even in that case, it’s considered a custom-made item and is therefore excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal (§ 312g Abs. 2 No. 1 BGB).
12. What if I have a special request?
Whether it’s an unusual measurement, several fabrics in one package, or a small extra — sometimes you just have a wish that doesn’t fit into a standard form.
We can’t make everything possible, of course — but if you have an idea, feel free to write to us. If it’s something we can do, we’ll find a solution together.
Please understand that we can’t offer elaborate custom designs or complex cutting requests — we simply don’t have the capacity for that. But for small extras or practical solutions, our door is always open: contact@wovena.com
13. What does “rescued textiles” mean?
For us, “rescued” is more than just another word for surplus stock — it’s a mindset. Instead of producing new fabrics, we work with what already exists: high-quality, unused materials that have been sorted out by the system. These textiles were originally made for special purposes — often with great care and craftsmanship — and they deserve to be used. We bring them back from obscurity and give them a new stage.
Rescued also means conserving resources, valuing what’s already there, and finding beauty where others might only see excess.
14. Where do your fabrics come from?
Our fabrics come from partners who pass on surplus or leftover high-quality textiles — often from overproduction or past collections of well-known brands. Because of this, we don’t control where the fabrics were originally produced; they may come from Turkey, Italy, India, or elsewhere.
What we do know is that they come from reputable manufacturers known for quality and responsible production — free from exploitative practices or child labor. And what we can influence is what happens next: we bring these fabrics back into the light and make them useful again — instead of letting them quietly disappear.
15. Can I contact you directly if I’m unsure about something?
Yes, feel free to reach out if you’re uncertain about a fabric or an order: contact@wovena.com
Please note that we’re a small, independent project — without a dedicated support team. We’ll get back to you as soon and as thoroughly as we can. Many questions can already be answered on our website or in the FAQ — a quick look there often helps and eases our workload.
Thank you for your understanding — and for being part of our idea.
16. Do you offer influencer collaborations?
As we are still in the early stages of building our brand, we are not offering influencer collaborations at the moment.
However, this may become possible in the future as our range and brand grow.
If you’re interested, you can leave your contact details and ideas, so we can consider you for future opportunities. This also helps to make valuable fabrics visible and usable again.
17. Do you have a physical store or showroom?
No, we don’t have a traditional store or showroom. Our concept is entirely online — this allows us to work flexibly, source independently, and include fabrics from a wide variety of suppliers.
Since our selection changes constantly and many fabrics are only available in small quantities, a fixed showroom would limit that flexibility. We prefer to react quickly and make new fabrics available to you right away — rather than preparing or displaying them first.
