Sillia is an opaque decorative fabric distinguished by exceptional softness — fluid to the touch, supple in drape, and unexpectedly resilient in everyday use. Its surface is defined by intersecting lines that resemble applied cords, giving the fabric a mosaic-like structure with pronounced depth.
What appears to be added is, in fact, created entirely through the weave. Yarns from the reverse side emerge selectively on the front, tracing the characteristic lines and carrying their own color with them. In this way, the tone of the back becomes visible on the face of the fabric, while elements of the front color continue through the structure in return. Front and reverse remain clearly different, yet intrinsically connected — a visible expression of color originating from yarn itself, not from print or coating.
A delicate sheen is present only in the ground fabric on the front. It responds subtly to light, illuminating the spaces between the lines. What initially reads as a calm surface reveals itself, once hung, as a living texture: when the fabric bends rather than hanging perfectly straight, the lines begin to shift visually, their strict geometry softened by the movement of the cloth.
